For this look, I used the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz palette to create this shimmery smoky eye as the foundation of a bold and glamorous makeup look inspired by the popular TikTok filter, Bold Glamour (shown in the middle image below).
How I Created the Look - Eyeshadow
On eyes, I used the Huda Rose Quartz palette, which is a lovely palette that give 18 rosy, earthy and smokey shades and 5 different textures. First, I applied Cherished, a matte light pink, all over the lid, then followed with Precious, a deep taupe. After that I applied Mantra, a deep greyish brown, in the upper and lower lashline and crease to add some depth. I took those darker shades and blended into my crease for a gorgeous smoky effect. I went a little bit bolder than normal, mimicking the Bold Glamour filter. Finally, I applied Blissful with my finger on the inner corner and inner third of the eye. Blissful is such a beautiful shimmery shade with a beige/aqua shift.
How I Created the Look - Eyeliner & Mascara
I added a light application of the Urban Decay 24/7 Inks in Oil Slick to just above the lashline, and I used the Sephora Collection Colorful Waterproof Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Multi-Stick in Matte Black to tightline my upper waterline. I have been reaching for the Fenty Hella Thicc mascara a lot lately, you can see it really extends and volumizes my lashes. Plus, the brush has a great tapered tip for getting to all your tiniest lashes. You do have to be careful that it doesn’t smudge or smear when applying because the formula is a wet formula. This is incredibly volumizing and gorgeous when first applied, though I do find it loses some of it's "oomph" throughout the day, and can flake or smudge ever so slightly by the end of the day.
How I Created the Look - Lips
I also used Huda Liquid Matte Lipstick in Muse and the Sephora Collection Lip Liner To Go in Nude Beige to get this lush, overlined lip. Because the lips are way overlined and plump in this filter, I started with concealer over my natural lipline, and then used the Sephora Liner To Go in Nude Beige to draw an exaggerated lipline while also smoothing out my cupid's bow. I then applied the Huda Liquid Matte Lipstick in Muse and to get this lush, overlined lip and followed with the MAC Dazzleglass to get a gleaming finish. I really like these Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks - their formula has changed since it was first released but it's still a lovely non-drying, long-lasting formula.
How I Created the Look - Brows
The bold and mesmerizing brows are a key component of the Bold Glamour filter, and the biggest departure for me from my normal makeup look (followed closely by the overlined lip). For this brow look, I first filled in with the Gucci Long Wearing Eyebrow pencil in 02 - Blond, then followed with the GXVE Hella On Point brow pencil (shade 5), which has a thin point and a darker and cooler color than my natural brows to get a bold, dark brow like the filter. I went outside my natural brow outline to get this look. I was surprised that it didn't feel too overdone.
Paired with a Classic and Refined Riesling
Since I felt like something a little sweet and refreshing, I enjoyed a glass of this crisp, fruity and slightly sweet Riesling from Schlink Haus from Nahe, Germany. Cheers!
Final Thoughts
While it is more dramatic than my typical look, I had fun recreating this filter. I will definitely incorporate some elements into my next evening look. I could have glammed up the eyes even further with bolder liner on upper and lower lash lines, along with fake eyelashes, but this was enough for the moment.
