Ellis Brooklyn FLORIST - A Perfect Spring Fragrance

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

A Lovely Lasting Fragrance in an Irresistible Bottle

An Instant Blind Buy For Me

I purchased FLORIST from Ellis Brooklyn direct since I could not wait for it to arrive at Sephora. Although I don't typically do many blind buys, I couldn't resist this one. I purchased via their shop from Instagram, and it was a seamless purchase, with plenty of communication about the order fulfillment and shipping status, which is always appreciated when you are impatiently waiting for a purchase!

A Floral With a Touch of Sweetness

FLORIST by Ellis Brooklyn is a pretty traditional floral scent at first blush, more so than I expected, but it does have some middle notes of marshmalllow or cotton candy, but done nicely and still remaining sophisticated. I don’t actually get a lot of citrus, but it is a very bright fragrance. I would say it’s in a similar realm as Dior J’adore and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.

However, it’s got more power and projection than a lot of florals, so it’s great if you like more projection rather than a very soft scent (for which I’d recommend Chanel Chance Eau Tendre). Florist lasts well, I’m getting at least 8 hours and it’s still noticeable. So far, I’ve also enjoyed layering it with Ellis Brooklyn SWEET and SALT. Highly recommend!

Ellis Brooklyn Website Description

Sheer, modern, and beautiful, FLORIST eau de parfum is a celebration of the citrus floral. Featuring the enchanting, powerful tuberose, but approached in a sparkling new way, FLORIST pairs tuberose petals with Italian bergamot, golden gardenia, honeysuckle and jasmine in a stunning arrangement that lingers like a flower-tinted spring breeze.

A High Quality and Irresistible Bottle

The Ellis Brooklyn fragrances all have a sleek glass bottle. I particularly seem to gravitate towards the frosted ones, as you can see from my bright and pastel lineup of bottles below. I like when you have multiple fragrances from one house, and can still easily tell which perfume you are reaching for by the design of the bottle. In addition, the caps are hefty and luxurious - they are made of Bakelite and have a strong magnet that clicks firmly into place. The signature metallic gold emblem/crest is visible and lightly embossed on the top. I must note that the label on my bottle of FLORIST was just the slightest bit off center, which was noticeable at first, but has ceased to be a bother to me and not worth stressing over. In the right light, you can see the metallic gold printing on the label.

Do let me know in the comments below if you pick up this fragrance, as well as any layering combinations you try and your thoughts!
