Embrace the Colors of Summer with Guerlain's Limited Edition Floral Denim Collection

A Delicate Yet Bold Collection and Look from Guerlain - Floral Denim

Today, I’m so excited to dive into Guerlain's Limited Edition Floral Denim Collection, including Guerlain's Ombres G 518 Summer Jean Eyeshadow Quad*, paired with the Rouge G Luxurious Velvet 16H Wear Velvet Metal Lipstick in 721 Mythic Fuchsia and the Rouge G Floral Denim case in Blossom Jean*. I bought this Guerlain palette and lipstick for the gorgeous packaging, but I am so thrilled with the colors and performance of the palette and lipstick. Since Guerlain is known for it's gentle violet scent, and their gorgeous beauty director is named Violette, I had the inspiration to make this “Violet Summer Jean” Cocktail with Empress 1908 Gin* and Monin Violet syrup** to pair with this look.

My First Ombres G Palette - Summer Jean from the Floral Denim Collection

Let's start by showcasing this palette, the Guerlain Limited Edition Ombres G Summer Jean Eyeshadow Quad. This eyeshadow palette is a celebration of summer, featuring four stunning shades inspired by the beauty of denim and flowers, bringing a Parisian chic vibe. For this makeup look, I used only the purple shade from the palette. I applied in a halo all over the lid, inner corner and above the crease and into the lower lashline with fingers, then blended out with a brush for a seamless and airy transition. The silky texture and buildable pigmentation of Guerlain eyeshadows ensure you can get the look you want – either subtle or bold depending on how and how much you apply.

I have actually created three different looks with this palette so far – an everyday colorful eye, this violet eye, and a golden eye for World Bee Day (look and cocktail to be posted soon). I have found each one to be really classy and versatile. As for the palette itself, it is a plastic case that is relatively lightweight, with a stunning embroidered cover (there is only this one shade and design option for this palette) and GUERLAIN embossed on the front edge of the palette. The palette is in a gold plastic finish, while the Rouge G lipstick is in the metal silver case. I probably would prefer them to match, but honestly, I think it’s so beautiful, this difference is insignificant. (As I look again at the official website, I do see the gold matches the KissKiss Bee Glow lipstick.)

Complexion with Guerlain's Terracotta Le Teint Foundation

To achieve a flawless base that wasn’t overdone, I reached for the Guerlain Terracotta le Teint foundation, which I am still sampling, but definitely intend to purchase soon. I was trying shade 2N and 2C, and both work well, but 2C is a slightly better match for me. This lightweight, long-lasting foundation provides a natural matte but still somehow glowing finish, perfect for the summer months. I’ve been applying it using a foundation brush. I love how it evens out the skin tone, but leaves you with a radiant yet natural complexion that lasts.

Today's look (Left) and another look using all four shades (right).

Subtle Cheeks with Matching Tone

For a soft and feminine touch, I used a lavender blush from Bobbi Brown complements the eye makeup beautifully. Using a fluffy brush, sweep the blush across the apples of your cheeks, blending it towards the temples. The lavender hue adds a touch of freshness and keeps everything from looking too pastel.

A Bold and Elegant Summer Pout

On lips, I must admit I expected this shade of the Rouge G in 721 Mythic Fuchsia to be more dark pink/fuschia from the swatches on Guerlain’s website, and was not expecting it to be so red! However, while it was not immediately what I was expecting, I am now officially in love with it! I was slightly hesitant about red and purple together, but I decided make a bold statement with this beautiful deep lipstick shade. This captivating shade strikes the perfect balance between vibrancy and sophistication. I applied the lipstick directly from the bullet, where I was surprised at its lightweight feel but intense color, and then I used a lip brush to touch up the edges and extend just slightly beyond my lip line. To complete the lip look, line your lips with the Sephora Lip Liner to go in the shade Deep Aubergine and blend the shades together. This step not only defines your lips but also helps prevent feathering and prolongs the wear of your lipstick. The deep aubergine shade adds depth and intensity, creating a beautiful match with the Mythic Fuchsia lipstick.

Guerlain's Rouge G Metal Velvet Formula

The Rouge G formula is known for its velvety texture and impressive staying power, ensuring your lips remain lush and glamorous all day long. I had not previously tried the velvet metal texture, I guess Violette is the one to launch this formula. I was a little worried about how dry the formula feels, however, it was not remotely drying on my lips, which tend to react badly to most matte formulas. Even after wearing this for 3 days in a row, my lips did not dry or flake, and they looked plump and smooth in every photo. This is magic. This formula is longwearing but not transfer proof. However, it’s such a pleasure to reapply, I don’t mind doing so. It wore off evenly, leaving a beautiful stain.

An Abundance of Elegance and Whimsy

To add a touch of elegance to your makeup routine, I highly recommend getting the Rouge G lipstick case in the stylish Rouge G Double Mirror Case in "Floral Denim - Blossom Jean." This limited edition case showcases a stunning floral denim design, making it a perfect accessory to carry your lipstick in style. There are two options, one that looks like a red garden rose (“Floral Denim – Love Jean”) and one with a white, pink and red poppy or cosmos and a daisy (Blossom Jean, which is the one I got), and both cases featuring two adorable bees on a denim background. Guerlain.com offers complimentary engraving on many products, including the Rouge G double mirror case, as well as complimentary giftwrap that is incredibly special and elegant, and perfect for a gift for yourself or a loved one!

Final Thoughts on the Guerlain Floral Denim Collection

Guerlain's Limited Edition Ombres G Summer Jean Eyeshadow Quad, paired with the Rouge G Velvet Metal Lipstick in Mythic Fuchsia (721), creates an ethereal yet bold makeup look that embodies the spirit of summer. The purple eyeshadow, radiant complexion, lavender blush, and bold fuchsia lips combine harmoniously to showcase confidence and beauty. So, embrace the colors of summer, indulge in the luxurious textures of Guerlain's collection, and let your makeup do the talking.

The “Violet Summer Jean” Cocktail

The cocktail was an herbal and semi-sweet gin cocktail featuring Empress Gin and Monin Violet syrup with a raspberry garnish, and it was absolutely delicious. View the full recipe.
