Vegan Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara
First of all, the packaging for this one is stunning! I mean, there's not much you can do with a mascara tube, but this one is so beautifully designed. I was actually surprised to see this in store because the Sephora website showed it as online only. I had it in my online cart, but was happy to purchase in store. This mascara is described as vegan, clean and cruelty-free.
From Sephora's website, the highlighted ingredients are:

- Vitamin B: Helps keep lashes looking healthy and strong.
- Vegan Film-Forming Technology: Adheres pigments to lashes for long-lasting wear.
Unique and Useful Brush Shape
The brush is a narrower silicone or rubber-type of brush with a ball-shaped tip. This ball-shaped tip allows you to more easily access corner lashes and tips or lashes, and also can be used to help arrange or re-position lashes, and it can help to eliminate any minor clumps that arise during application.
I like that the brush does not feel spiky against the delicate skin of the eye. It is definitely lengthening and volumizing. The first coat applies nicely, without any smudging or clumping. I got a very slight amount of clumping when I applied extra coats to the outer corners, but was able to easily brush out any clumps. After the mascara dried down, I'd say my lashes did feel slightly stiff to the touch, but not uncomfortable at all.
12-Hour Wear Without Flaking or Smudging
As for a wear test, I have worn this multiple days and was pleased to have a wear time of at least 12 hours with no flaking or smudging. Simiar to the Gucci L'Obscur mascara that I also recently reviewed, I was also pleased that this one stayed on my eyes and did not disappear from the tips during the day, which is something that happens to me with many mascaras, especially since my eyes are hooded and this can be a problem for those of us with hooded eyes. I did not detect any noticeable curling from this, but my eyelashes are pretty straight as it is. I think from the way the formula feels and dries with some level of stiffness, that it would help hold curl if you do curl your lashes prior to applying.
The Final Verdict - Highly Recommend
At $20, I think it is a good value for this mascara, especially if you are looking for a clean, vegan, cruelty-free mascara. While I don't think it is necessarily the MOST volumizing of all the mascaras out there, it is pretty dramatic. It has an intensity with a deep, dark black color and I find it very lengthening, and I appreciate the long-wearing formula that doesn't flake, smudge or disappear. I have found myself reaching for this much more often, and am happy with it every time. In addition to it's performance, I find the packaging to be absolutely beautiful and makes me smile with that graphic black & white, along with the checkers, the olde english GXVE and the cursive "Can't Stop Staring".
