Happy Pride! Celebrating with Danessa Myricks' 'Love is Love' Palette

Overview of the 'Love is Love' Palette

Every year Danessa Myricks creates a product for Pride Month as a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. All of Danessa's products are multi-use and focused on inclusivity and this this Love is Love All Over Face Palette embodies the spirit of inclusivity and beauty of love in all its forms. This is an11-shade multi-chrome palette that features four unique finishes designed to cater to all skin tones. It offers a mesmerizing array of shimmering multi-chrome tones, from cream matte eyeshadows to metallic and rainbow multi-chromes, and even an elastin multi-chrome highlighter, perfect for creating color-shifting rainbow color stories.

Fun with 'Love is Love'

I received this unique palette from Danessa Myricks Beauty to try (no obligation to review), and I wanted to share my review after using it several times. I have to admit to being a little bugged at the erratic design and spacing of the products in the palette BUT I was super-intrigued by the looks and colors posted on Danessa Myricks social media and so I was so excited when this box arrived from the brand. The box contained the palette, a rainbow slap bracelet, and a large, colorful fan!

Overall Impressions and Value of the New Palette

All of these colors are super silky and buttery, with DREAM being a vibrant multicolored rainbow. Worthy and Freedom have a transparent, holographic effect with a stunning shimmer and sparkle. The purple and Black shades are a creamy opaque, and can be used as bases for the other shades, if desired. Ally and Truth provide shimmery, sparkly silver and champagne options.

To be honest, it’s a little pricey for the amount of product (especially the small size of the DREAM shades), but I think it’s worth the price overall, and I had planned to purchase this one if I hadn’t received it. While I've had the chance to use this several times now, I definitely look forward to using this more. This palette is available now in Sephora stores and online at Sephora and Danessa Myricks (see below for more details.)

Creating this Mesmerizing and Easy Rainbow Eye Look

This made for a super easy rainbow eye, I just swiped each color of DREAM kind of vertically from lash line to above the crease, then blended the edges. I added Worthy, the peachy pink to the under eye. These colors kept catching the light in the evening and it is stunning and lasted at least 6 hours without smudging despite not using primer and having hooded eyes.

Shimmery, Sparkly Eyes & Highlight

For this look, I used the peachy highlighter shade 'Worthy' over the Danessa Myricks' lowlighter in 'Off the Grid", a bronzey shade, to get this glassy, holographic shimmer effect. It looked even more amazing in person!

Comparing 'Love is Love' and 'Lightwork IV' Palettes

There are comparable colors to DREAM, though not exact dupes, in Lightwork IV, which is another stunning palette. However, Lightwork IV was Limited Edition, so not everyone will have that one. Additionally, the DREAM shades from Love is Love do make the rainbow eye as easy as possible by lining the colors up together. If using Lightwork IV, you would have to jump around the palette a bit to put the rainbow eye together, and one still might want to supplement with other shades. In the photos below, Love is Love is on the left, followed by a comparable shade or shades from Lightwork IV.

Where to Buy

This is available in most freestanding Sephora stores if you want to swatch it. Some stores have a full Danessa Myricks section on the gondola, but some just have an endcap with a few shelves of top Danessa Myricks products, including the Love is Love palette.
