Sephora Collection Newness & Some Old Favorites

A Few New Items and Restocks - And a Refreshing Ginger Citrus Splash Cocktail!

Since Sephora Collection is 30% off during the Sephora Spring Savings Event, I definitely wanted to spend some time and energy to love on Sephora Collection items before the sale ends. I have a few eternal favorites from the Sephora in-house brand, and they are always putting out new items, as well. As I always like to mention in posts about Sephora - I am a former part-time employee of Sephora (for almost 6 years), but I'm not sponsored or affiliated, just a Sephora fan!

Makeup Artist Quality at a Savings

The Sephora Collection is a great way to get makeup artist quality products at a great price. Since it's their in-house brand, they don't have to spend on on a distributor (middle-man), and they also have minimal packaging, so they are able to pass some savings on to customers. I would say the prices would still tend to be slightly higher than drugstore brand prices by a few dollars, in most cases, but much less than many of the other name brands in the store. I highly recommend Sephora Collection as a great way to branch out into new colors or textures or products that you're curious about. As with all products in store, you can always try the testers and request samples.

What I Picked Up - Old Faves

Sephora Colorful Waterproof Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Multi-Stick - Color 17 Black An wonderful, easy to use, long-lasting, thick pencil for eyes. I use it for tightlining and it can also be used to create a super quick and easy smoky eye (I plan to do a tutorial on this and will link when it's done!) I like the black, but you can also do an easy smoky eye with any of the colors - there are a lot of them. The Black is a matte finish, but they also have some shimmer and rose gold, silver, and beige glitter pencils. Just make sure you have a sharpener that will accommodate the thicker pencil - Sephora Collection or Anastasia Beverly Hills (the one I use) are both only $6, and can sharpen regular, thin pencils, plus the 2 standard sizes of thicker pencils that you will find from different brands. You just pull out the collar on the thicker sharpener side if you find your pencil won't fit in the sharpener.

Sephora Collection Liners To Go

These are amazing! There are a multitude of colors for both eyes and lips, and priced at $6 apiece. With the 30% off, they come to about $4.20 each. There are 12 colors of the Lip Liner To Go and 6 colors of the Eyeliner Pencil To Go. I picked up Color 11 Rose in the Lip Liner (I already have 4-5 other colors, but needed a basic pink) and Color 01 Intense Black in the Eyeliner. These are great for everyday use and, of course, for travel.

What I Picked Up - Hybrid - A New Brush with "Old Favorite" Quality

The Sephora Collection Brushes are always amazing quality and when there is a discount, it is a great time to pickup these up if you need to add a specific brush. They also have great sets from time to time, which can be great to start your collection, as a gift for someone who loves makeup or needs a new travel set, and for regular travel or to keep in your gym bag. I call this hybrid, because I have many favorite Sephora brushes, but didn't have PRO Blush Brush #96, this particular blush brush, which has a uniform (not tapered) semi-dense/semi-fluffy brush shape. I actually needed something a little looser for more densely pigmented blushes, including the Too Faced Cloud Crush Watermelon Rain, which is SO VERY bright, though still lovely when applied with a lighter hand.

What I Picked Up - New To Me

So far, this is a pretty standard, silicone type of primer. It is very similar to the Smashbox original primer that is good for absorbing oil and blurring fine lines and small pores. My makeup stayed over this, but, in my initial wear test, it did not fill pores as well as my Holy Grail primer for pore-filling, the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer.

Sephora Collection Lip Lacquer Color 08 Hear Me Roar (blackberry purple)

This is really lovely. I wore it for the first time today and I found it to start off with a nice shine and a very smooth formula, and then it actually dried down to a beautiful, even stain. I have notoriously dry lips and this did not have a drying effect on my lips. I did combine it with the Rose Lip Liner To Go and the Plump Intense Gloss I describe below at first, but then followed up with only this product. I did reapply a few times over the course of 8 hours, but I was really happy with this. For me, as mentioned, it did not last in appearance as visible lipstick with the original finish when applied, but did last with a lovely stain. it is described as a blackberry purple, but on me was more of a bright raspberry, which is sort of my primary choice for lip colors. It will definitely complement green and brown eyes, among others.

Sephora Collection Outrageous Plump Intense Hydrating Lip Gloss

After a few seconds, this gives a very tingly effect, due to the peppermint and chili pepper. I don't mind a tingly lip moment, and I actually felt like this delivered some plumping effect. As with the Lip lacquer above, I did not get any dryness from this product, which is often a side effect of other lip products and plumpers. It gives a nice shiny, light shimmer, and will probably end up living in my purse for touch-ups on the go. I also tried this gloss over the Rose Lip Liner To Go, and was really pleased with that look, also.

This look featuring my new Sephora Collection items and brushes, along with some other brand favorites, all items pictured above.

Other Sephora Collection Recommendations

I would recommend Sephora Collection complexion products, including foundations, concealers, powders, as well as eyeshodows and blushes. The Sephora Lipstories lipsticks (48 colors!!) are also amazing and so much fun to look at and collect. It's such a great and affordable way to try a bunch of colors you might not otherwise be sure about.

I made a refreshing cocktail inspired by my Sephora Collection items. To experience this cocktail and get the recipe, please visit the recipe post.

I hope this has been helpful! Let me know what are your favorites from Sephora Collection below.
