It's that time of the year again! The Sephora spring sale is upon us and I'm sharing my top tips for shopping the sale. I am just a Sephora super fan and beauty enthusiast, and I wanted to share my tips and advice with you for making the most of the Sephora Spring Savings Event. My Top Tips for Shopping the Sephora Spring Savings Event
Make a Friend with a Rouge!
On this sale, Rouge members had the opportunity to share a 20% off discount code with a friend to shop the sale early and receive the Rouge 20% off discount. That offer has passed for this sale, but hopefully they will do it again next time around!
Test in Store - if you can!
I always recommend testing items out in store if you can. I know this is not possible for everyone. If you purchase on sale, but then go to exchange later, you will (most likely) not be able to get the same sale price and will only get credit for the discounted amount you paid. There's a chance you'd be able to do an even exchange for the same product in a different color, but that may not work for other items. Also, ask for samples in advance of the sale if you're considering something - that way, you'll already know what you like and can hopefully purchase early since some items go out of stock quickly.
DO NOT Forget Your Online Cash Back at Rakuten/Mr. Rebates
I cannot stress this one enough! Many years ago, I used to think these offers were a scam and was concerned about adding the online extension to notify me when cashback is available, but I've actually gotten over $1,000 in cash back from Rakuten (formerly EBates) and over $100 from Mr. Rebates (which I only joined recently). This is cash back from items I already purchase, so it's definitely a win-win! Even though it seems like such a small amount, every little bit adds up. Shop Early
See above - some items do go out of stock pretty quickly, especially if you are VIB or Insider, since Rouge have several days of early access to the savings event. If something you had your eye on goes out of stock, remember that you can sign up on the Sephora website product page for notifications when items come back in stock, but it's disappointing when something you've had your eye on goes out of stock and you miss the chance to purchase at a discount. You can choose to be notified by email or text. By shopping early, you may also be able to avoid some crowds in store over the weekend when everyone has access to the sale. If you shop early in the sale, you will also likely get faster shipping since it tends to slow down as they have more and more online orders to fill as the sale goes on.
Consider Limited Editions, Sampler Sets, Jumbo Sizes & Value Sets
Since value sets and jumbo sizes are usually already a great deal, you can stack your savings by getting an additional discount. You can find the value sets by selecting the dropdown for Makeup, Skincare, Hair, Fragrance (and so on) and then select value size. Or, use my links below (not affiliate links). It will show you sets and value sizes in each category. You can also search in the search bar for "limited edition" or "exclusive" to see what items are limited edition or exclusive to Sephora. The perfume Sampler sets are a great option, because you will get the discount over an already great deal, and then have a coupon to pick up the full size. While I'm at it, it's not a terrible time to buy minis too. The minis tend to have a higher price point for the amount of product you get, so if there's something you've been wanting to try or pick up for travel, it's not a bad time to get the mini and it may be closer to the per unit full size price.
Two Words - Sephora Collection!
Brushes, Makeup, Bodycare, Skincare, Nails, Lashes - honestly, you cannot go wrong with Sephora Collection. All of the products are high quality, but they spend less on packaging and they can charge less since it's their store brand. Super affordable, super cute and super effective! I'll be picking up a few staples and new items that I'll share in my next post.
Check the Terms
During some Sephora sales, you can only use a code once, and for some sales you can use it throughout the duration of the sale. For the Spring Sale 2023, you can use the code as many times as you like online and in-store until the sale ends on 4/24 at 11:59 pm Pacific time. There are some limitations and exclusions, including the Dyson and new Shark items, which are limit one, to help avoid resellers. The Ordinary, MAC, and in-store services are excluded. I pasted the full terms below (as of 4/18/23), but definitely check Sephora's website for full details.
Build Your Cart in Advance
If you're wanting to shop early to make sure your items are in stock, then go ahead and build your cart in advance. You can estimate the cost and budget for your items, save items to loves, check what's in stock online or in-store, and have everything 100% ready to go when the discount is available. Don't forget to add your samples, add any reward points items and don't forget to add SAVENOW to get the discount.
